Millions of Americans are descendants of German immigrants. Many of them have the strong desire to trace their ancestor's paths back to Germany. May it even be possible to find some remote relatives and get in contact with them?

How can this be done? First I need to know who immigrated to the US from Germany. Any information you have will help to find his or her birth record in Germany. With this I will be able to find parents, grandparents and often more generations back. In a second step I will identify their descendants until now.
